Model 2100 EP Series

The 2100 Explosion Proof Series Zero Speed Switches are electro-mechanical rotary motion controls requiring no electrical input to operate. These shaft driven devices can let you know if equipment is running too fast, too slow, or not at all. 2100 Series Switches are for shaft input speeds of 4 to 2000 RPM.

Designed for industrial use, these Switches will operate in temperatures ranging from -40 F to +250 F, or -40 C to +482 C. The Factory Mutual Approved Explosion Proof (NEMA 7/9) housing is constructed of high strength cast aluminum alloy, and approved for Class I, Division 1, Groups C and D; as well as Dust-Ignition Proof for Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F, and G hazardous locations, indoors.

MODEL 2100 EP SERIES ZERO SPEED SWITCHES

This line of Speed Switches are electro-mechanical rotary motion controls requiring no electrical input to operate. These shaft driven devices can let you know if equipment is running too fast, too slow, or not at all.

Designed for industrial use, these Switches will operate in temperatures ranging from –40⁰F to +250⁰F, or –40⁰C to +482⁰C. 

Switches can be mounted in any position, however they must be aligned and concentric with the corresponding drive shaft. They are installed directly to machinery or equipment with recommended Mounting Brackets and K-Couplings, or V-belt. Care must be taken to avoid shaft end pressure and deflection.

Explosion Proof – NEMA 7 / 9

All models of the 2100 / 8100 Speed Switch series may be purchased in a Factory Mutual Approved Explosion Proof housing constructed of high strength cast aluminum alloy. These units are Explosion Proof for Class I, Division 1, Groups C and D; as well as Dust-Ignition Proof for Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F and G hazardous locations, indoors.

Operation

Contacts are actuated as soon as input shaft speed accelerates to the applicable trip point, and will remain actuated as long as shaft speed remains above this point. On speed loss, the contacts drop out at the speed applicable to each specific model or user selected setting.

Electrical Wiring

These electro-mechanical speed switches may be wired as normally open or normally closed at zero speed, depending on customer application requirements. The following UL, CSA, CE Certified, Honeywell Snap Action Micro Switch contact configurations are available:
